Dough

500 g white flour
4 tbsp date syrup
1 tsp bourbon vanilla powder
¾ tsp salt
½ cube yeast (approx. 20 g
40 g butter
2 ½ dl milk
1 egg

To glaze

1 tbsp milk

To bake

a little gold dust (e.g. Betty Bossi glitter spray)

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Dough

500 g white flour
4 tbsp date syrup
1 tsp bourbon vanilla powder
¾ tsp salt
½ cube yeast (approx. 20 g

Mix the flour, date syrup, vanilla and salt in a bowl. Crumble in the yeast, mix in.

40 g butter
2 ½ dl milk
1 egg

Melt the butter in a small pan, allow to cool slightly.Add the milk and egg to the dough, knead.Add the butter, knead to form a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1 hr.

To shape

Shape the dough into 9 balls, place on a baking tray lined with baking paper, cover and leave to rise for a further 30 mins.

To glaze

1 tbsp milk

Make a star-shaped incision using scissors, brush the star with milk.

To bake

a little gold dust (e.g. Betty Bossi glitter spray)

Approx. 20 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove from the oven, leave the buns to cool on a rack, decorate the stars with gold dust.

Good to know
Tip: Cover the bun with a piece of kitchen paper so that only the star turns gold.
