Chocolate

400 g dark chocolate

Brunsli batter

250 g butter
250 g sugar
2 pinch salt
6 eggs
200 g white flour
200 g ground almonds
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 parcel baking powder
2 ½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves
3 dl milk

To bake

½ tbsp icing sugar
½ tbsp cocoa powder

How it's done

Chocolate

400 g dark chocolate

Break the chocolate into pieces, place in a thin-sided bowl. Suspend over a gently simmering bain-marie; the bowl must not touch the water. Melt the chocolate and stir until smooth.

Brunsli batter

250 g butter
250 g sugar
2 pinch salt
6 eggs

Using the whisk on a mixer, beat the butter, sugar and salt until the mixture is light and creamy. Add the eggs, beat until the mixture becomes lighter in colour.

200 g white flour
200 g ground almonds
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 parcel baking powder
2 ½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves

Mix the flour with all the other ingredients up to and including the ground cloves, mix into the batter along with the chocolate.

3 dl milk

Stir in the milk, spread the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

To bake

½ tbsp icing sugar
½ tbsp cocoa powder

Approx. 20 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 180°C. Remove, allow to cool slightly in the tray, mix the icing sugar and cocoa powder, use to dust the cake, cut into pieces.
