Butter

50 g butter

Dough

100 g coarse cane sugar
¼ tsp bourbon vanilla powder
1 fresh egg
150 g half-white flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
60 g hazelnuts

To shape

1 red-skinned apple
1 tbsp coarse cane sugar

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Butter

50 g butter

Melt the butter in a pan until it foams and smells slightly nutty. Remove the pan from the heat, let the butter cool a little.

Dough

100 g coarse cane sugar
¼ tsp bourbon vanilla powder
1 fresh egg
150 g half-white flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt

Mix the sugar, vanilla and egg in a bowl. Pour in the butter, mix with a whisk. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt, mix into the egg mixture and combine to form a soft dough – do not knead.

60 g hazelnuts

Roughly chop the hazelnuts,mix in.

To shape

1 red-skinned apple
1 tbsp coarse cane sugar

Shape the dough into 6 balls using an ice cream scoop or two tablespoons and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving plenty of space between each. Flatten the dough balls a little.Cut the apple into 6 neat slices, each approx. 5 mm thick, place one slice of apple on each piece of dough, press down gently. Sprinkle with sugar.

To bake

Approx. 15 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, leave to cool completely on a rack.
