To prepare

a little butter

Mixture

100 g butter, soft
60 g sugar
1 parcel vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
2 eggs

Batter

200 g half-white flour
50 g shelled ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
2 dl milk

To decorate

1 bag white cake icing (approx. 125 g)
4 drop red food colouring
4 drop blue food colouring
4 drop yellow food colouring
50 g chocolate buttons

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

To prepare

a little butter

Line the base of a springform pan (approx. 23 cm) with baking paper, grease the sides with butter.

Mixture

100 g butter, soft
60 g sugar
1 parcel vanilla sugar
1 pinch salt
2 eggs

In a bowl, mix the butter with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt. Add the eggs, mix in using the whisk on a mixer, continue to beat until the mixture becomes lighter in colour.

Batter

200 g half-white flour
50 g shelled ground almonds
2 tsp baking powder
2 dl milk

Combine the flour, almonds and baking powder, stir into the mixture alternately with the milk. Transfer the batter to the prepared tin.

To bake

Approx. 20 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, remove the tin frame, slide onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely.

To decorate

1 bag white cake icing (approx. 125 g)
4 drop red food colouring
4 drop blue food colouring
4 drop yellow food colouring
50 g chocolate buttons

Melt the cake icing in a hot bain-marie. Divide the icing between small bowls, adding of different food colouring to each bowl. Cut the cake into rectangles and squares of the desired size and coat each with a different colour icing. Place Smarties on top to create Lego bricks, leave to dry.
