Crushed tomato sauce

800 g different coloured cherry tomatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ tsp salt

To cook the pasta

500 g pasta (e.g. penne)
salted water, boiling
5 sprig basil

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Crushed tomato sauce

800 g different coloured cherry tomatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ tsp salt

Place the cherry tomatoes in a bowl, roughly crush with a potato masher. Add the oil, season with salt, mix.

To cook the pasta

500 g pasta (e.g. penne)
salted water, boiling
5 sprig basil

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, drain and add to the bowl of tomatoes, mix. Tear the basil leaves and mix in.

Good to know
Tip: Crush the tomatoes with clean hands instead of a potato masher. Press in 1 clove of garlic, as desired.
Note: Wear a large cooking apron as the tomatoes may squirt.
