Gingerbread dough

250 g brown flour
60 g ground cane sugar
1 ½ tbsp gingerbread spice
1 tbsp cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp sodium bicarbonate
1 pinch salt
1 dl milk
60 g liquid honey

To bake

16 lolly sticks, cut in half

To decorate the gingerbread

1 icing for writing (green)
some Smarties

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Gingerbread dough

250 g brown flour
60 g ground cane sugar
1 ½ tbsp gingerbread spice
1 tbsp cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp sodium bicarbonate
1 pinch salt
1 dl milk
60 g liquid honey

In a bowl, mix the flour with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt. Add the milk and honey, knead to form a soft, smooth dough.

To shape

Halve the dough and shape into balls. Between two sheets of baking paper, roll the balls into circles approx. 7 mm thick and approx. 18 cm in diameter. Divide the dough into eighths to create 8 equal cake-like slices. Place the triangles on a tray lined with baking paper.

To bake

16 lolly sticks, cut in half

Approx. 8 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, leave the gingerbread to cool on a rack. Thread onto the lolly sticks.

To decorate the gingerbread

1 icing for writing (green)
some Smarties

Decorate the biscuits like Christmas trees using writing icing and Smarties.
