Dishes

a little butter, soft

Vegetables

200 g carrots
2 onions
2 sprig thyme

Meat

oil for frying
400 g minced meat (beef and pork)
80 g diced bacon
1 garlic clove
2 tbsp tomato puree
5 dl water
1 tbsp apple vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
¾ tsp salt

Mashed potatoes

145 g dried potato flakes (for mashed potatoes)
5 dl water, boiling
3 dl milk
1 tbsp butter
salt to taste
100 g Cheddar

How it's done

Preparation

Dishes

a little butter, soft

Grease the dishes with butter, place on a baking tray.

Vegetables

200 g carrots
2 onions
2 sprig thyme

Peel and dice the carrots. Peel and finely chop the onions. Remove the thyme leaves.

Meat

oil for frying
400 g minced meat (beef and pork)
80 g diced bacon
1 garlic clove
2 tbsp tomato puree
5 dl water
1 tbsp apple vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
¾ tsp salt

Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan. Brown the meat in batches for approx. 3 mins. per batch, remove from the pan. Reduce the heat and wipe the cooking fat from the pan. Add the bacon, slowly fry until crisp. Add the onions, mince in the garlic, sauté for approx. 2 mins. Add the carrots, tomato puree and thyme, cook for approx. 2 mins. Pour in the water, add the vinegar and Worcestershire sauce, bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, return the meat to the pan, simmer for approx. 10 mins., season with salt.

Mashed potatoes

145 g dried potato flakes (for mashed potatoes)
5 dl water, boiling
3 dl milk
1 tbsp butter
salt to taste
100 g Cheddar

Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the instructions on the packet, roughly grate the cheese, mix into the mashed potatoes.

Gratin

Transfer the mince to the dishes. Add the mashed potatoes, smooth down.

Bake

Approx. 20 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200 °C. Remove, allow to cool slightly, serve.
