Dough

60 g full-cane sugar
120 g butter, soft
100 g caramel cookie spread
1 fresh egg white
2 tbsp apple vinegar
300 g half-white flour
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt

Decorate

How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Dough

60 g full-cane sugar
120 g butter, soft
100 g caramel cookie spread
1 fresh egg white
2 tbsp apple vinegar
300 g half-white flour
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt

Place the sugar in a bowl along with all the other ingredients up to and including the vinegar, beat for approx. 5 mins. using the whisk on a mixer. Mix the flour, cinnamon and salt, add, combine quickly to form a dough. Flatten the dough a little, cover and chill for approx. 1 hr.

Biscuits

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough in batches to 4 mm thick. Cut out different biscuit shapes (approx. 8 cm in diameter), place on two baking trays lined with baking paper.

Bake

Approx. 10 mins. per tray in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove, immediately pierce a hole approx. 1 cm from the edge of each biscuit using a wooden skewer, leave to cool on a rack.

Decorate

Decorate with writing icing and pretty ribbon and hang on the Christmas tree.
