How it's done

The kids can help at the marked areas .

Dough

500 g half-white flour
1 ¾ tsp salt
50 g fondue cheese mix
½ cube yeast (approx. 20 g)
60 g butter
3 dl milk water (1/2 milk, 1/2 water)

Mix the flour, salt and cheese in a bowl. Crumble the yeast, add, mix. Cut the butter into pieces, add with the milk water, mix and knead to form a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave the dough to rise at room temperature for approx. 1½ hrs. until doubled in size.

To shape

a little white flour

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions, shape into balls on a lightly floured surface and arrange on a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving plenty of room between each ball. Cover and leave to rise again at room temperature for approx. 30 mins.

Filling

1 egg
200 g fondue cheese mix
80 g ham cubes
1 dl milk
½ bunch flat-leaf parsley

Add the egg to a bowl and beat with a fork. Add cheese, ham and milk. Finely cut the parsley with scissors, add, and mix well.

Buns

1 egg
1 tbsp sesame seeds

Press a hollow into the centre of the dough balls with your fingers, stretch them slightly (approx. 8 cm Ø), place them on two baking trays lined with baking paper. Beat the egg and use it to brush the edges of the dough, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Spread the cheese filling into the hollows.

To bake

Approx. 25 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C (fan). Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, leave to cool completely on a rack.
