Easter brunch with little ones

Egg painting, baking bread and snacking on chocolate bunnies – there's no shortage of things to do at a family Easter brunch!

Easter is a wonderful time of year for children. Spring is breaking out in all its magnificent colours, the birds are singing, the mornings are getting lighter and the days longer. We'll show you how to whip up a beautiful Easter brunch in no time at all. And best of all – you can enlist the help of your little ones.

Edible decorations, homemade bread and an Easter wreath with flowers and bunny ears.

We like to keep things rustic at Easter and place everything straight onto the wooden table. As far as we're concerned, you can't beat an edible table decoration. This year we collected fresh hay from the farm, stuffed it into jam jars and placed chocolate bunnies on top. We used the remainder of the hay for the Easter nests.

We placed tulips of different lengths into old preserving jars. This has a playful effect and adds a wonderful touch to the table. We also used pastel-coloured linen serviettes, to which we tied pretty little painted eggs with a beautiful bow.

Boiled eggs can be turned into fun little bunnies and chicks. The sad thing is they're almost too cute to eat.

Egg painting is a beautiful thing, however it can also be very time-consuming. We love the traditional stocking, herb and onion method, but sometimes we need a quicker alternative, #BusyMumAndDadLife – so this year we've used a waterproof black pen and decorated the eggs with patterns, bunnies and fun slogans.

Be sure to use brown and white eggs as they look really good together.

When it comes to the eggs, the kids can't help out (at least not the really young ones), as the eggs are brought by the Easter bunny (-.-) However, they can get involved with baking the bread. Whether it's preparing the dough, watching and marvelling as it rises, or helping to braid the dough.

Baking bread is always a hit with the kids. And if you let the flour go everywhere, you may have to clean the kitchen but you'll also win the award for coolest parent :-)

*HAPPY EASTER*
